HAMARTIOLOGY — UNDERSTANDING SIN AND THE NEED FOR GOD’S REDEMPTION
To understand the reality of sin is to recognize humanity’s need for God’s holiness, mercy, and saving grace. Biblical Hamartiology reveals the origin, nature, consequences, and spiritual impact of sin upon humanity and our relationship with God.
Through the study of Hamartiology, we discover how sin entered the human experience through disobedience, how it affects the human heart, separates humanity from God’s holiness, and brings spiritual death and moral corruption.
Yet the message of Scripture does not end with humanity’s fall. God’s infinite love and mercy provide the promise of forgiveness, restoration, and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Understanding the seriousness of sin leads us to repentance, humility, and a deeper appreciation of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
True spiritual transformation begins when we acknowledge our sins, turn toward God in sincere repentance, and receive the forgiveness and new life offered through His Son.
The knowledge of sin reveals humanity’s brokenness, but the grace of God reveals the power of redemption.”
